Sustainable Development: Recycling and Regeneration of Waste Cowboys

The denim industry is solving environmental problems through technological innovation: waste denim can be regenerated through the process of "mechanical crushing fiber separation spinning restructuring", which can reduce 10 tons of carbon emissions per ton of waste fabric. Italian brand Replay launches the "Eco Jeans" series, made of 100% recycled cotton with a shrinkage rate equal to that of new cotton; Levi's has developed the "Water<Less" technology, which reduces water consumption in the washing ring by 96%. Some companies also recycle indigo dye wastewater and extract usable pigments through membrane separation technology to achieve resource recycling. In 2023, the global production of recycled denim fabric will exceed 150000 tons, and it is expected to account for 25% of the total production capacity by 2030.

The invention and technological balance of stretch denim fabric

The emergence of stretch denim in the 1970s overturned the impression of denim being "stiff but not snug", with the core being the blending of 1% to 3% spandex into cotton fibers. Brands such as Emporio Armani have found through experiments that a 2% spandex content can ensure elasticity while avoiding excessive relaxation after washing
